Four Nights with a Duke
Author: Eloisa James
As you all are probably aware, Eloisa James is one of my favorite authors. So I’m sure it is no surprise when I say that I preordered Four Nights with the Duke, Book 2 of the Desperate Duchesses by the Numbers Series, back in May… 2014. Book 1, Three Weeks with Lady X, was a phenomenal success I enjoyed very much. With that in mind, I am quite positive that I will not be getting any writing in today. Sigh. For those of you groaning about that, why don’t you buy a copy of Four Nights with a Duke…? I’m sure you won’t regret it.
Book Blurb:
As a young girl, Emilia Gwendolyn Carrington told the annoying future Duke of Pindar that she would marry any man in the world before him—so years later she is horrified to realize that she has nowhere else to turn.
Evander Septimus Brody has his own reasons for agreeing to Mia’s audacious proposal, but there’s one thing he won’t give his inconvenient wife: himself. Instead, he offers Mia a devil’s bargain… he will spend four nights a year with her.
Four nights, and nothing more. And those only when she begs for them. Which Mia will never do.
Now Vander faces the most crucial challenge of his life: he must seduce his own wife in order to win her heart—and no matter what it takes, this is the one battle he can’t afford to lose.
It Started with a Scandal
Author: Julie Anne Long
It’s going to be quite difficult for me to decide which book to start reading today. I preordered, It Started with a Scandal, Book 10 of the Pennyroyal Green series, as well. A while back. Julie Anne Long’s previous book, Betweeen the Devil and Ian Eversea, is decidedly one of my all time favorite books. Ever. Therefore, it is going to be difficult for this sequel to replace it in my affections… but if anyone can do it, it is Ms. Long. I cannot wait to find out.
Book Blurb:
Lord Philippe Lavay once took to the high seas armed with charm as lethal as his sword and a stone-cold conviction: he’ll restore his family’s fortune and honor, no matter the cost. Victory is at last within reach–when a brutal attack snatches it from his grasp and lands him in Pennyroyal Green.
An afternoon of bliss brings a cascade of consequences for Elise Fountain. Shunned by her family and ousted from a job she loves, survival means a plummet down the social ladder to a position no woman has yet been able to keep: housekeeper to a frighteningly formidable prince.
The bold and gentle Elise sees past his battered body into Philippe’s barricaded heart…and her innate sensuality ignites his blood. Now a man who thought he could never love and a woman who thought she would never again trust must fight an incendiary passion that could be the ruin of them both.
The Scandalous Secret of Abigail MacGregor
Author: Paula Quinn
Paula Quinn wrote another of my all-time favorite romances, A Highlander Never Surrenders. I’ve read it a dozen times at least. So I did not hesitate to preorder The Scandalous Secret of Abigail MacGregor when it became available. This book is the 3rd in the Highland Heirs series. Book 2, The Wicked Ways of Alexander the Kidd was a fantastic read I do not hesitate to recommend to my friends.
Book Blurb:
A LADY’S MISSION
Known for her beauty and boldness, Abigail MacGregor must preserve her clan’s dangerous secret: that her mother is the true heir to the English crown. If the wrong people find out, it will mean war for her beloved Scotland. To keep peace, she embarks for London, unprepared for the treachery that awaits—especially from her wickedly handsome escort. He is the enemy, but his slow, sensuous kisses entice her beyond reason.
A WARRIOR’S TEMPTATION
General Daniel Marlow, loyal knight and the kingdom’s most desirable hero, would rather be on the battlefield than transporting a spoiled Highland lass. But Abby MacGregor is unlike any woman he’s ever met, in a ballroom or in his bedroom. Captivated by her daring spirit and seduced by her lovely innocence, Daniel must choose between betraying his queen, or giving up the woman who would steal his country—and his traitorous heart.
